After working on the Camden Crawl, I was given the chance to work on the illustration, branding and website for its new sister festival, Camden Crawl Dublin. I love drawing buildings and with the aid of Google Street View, it was another fun brief. Hoping to make it over to the Emerald Isle come May.

Happy Chinese New Year! I was asked by Ping Pong to contribute my take on a Chinese dragon to celebrate Chinese New Year – and here mine is! It’s on the menus (pictured) as well as on window displays.

So 2011 is coming to an end, and illustration wise, it’s been an exciting and fulfilling year – I’ve been given brilliant opportunities, worked with talented folk, made comics, flyers, posters, editorial work, dolls, had my first card/activity book published, hosted workshops, done presentations about my work, work featured in 2 exhibitions … I’m grateful for all the help, advice, chances, trust and encouragement I’ve received this year and hope to take it up a gear in 2012.
Wishing you all a fab 2012; stay happy, healthy and creative.

Thought I’d share the two card designs I am sending out to friends, family and clients this year.
Slightly premature but … Happy Holidays all! I’m looking forward to some time off and the inevitable stone that I will gain over the holiday period.

After contributing to Camden Crawl 2011, I was asked back to do the branding for their marketing material for 2012 – website, posters and programmes. They wanted a more vintagey, hand drawn, warm look compared to last year, made up of moveable elements. So far I can share with you the poster and the website – which is live now if you want a better look – which I drew the icons, borders, buttons, background, hand drawn type, search boxes… it’s really exciting to see it all put together. The next stage will be working on the programmes and also getting to see the poster dotted around London nearer the time of the festival. More images below the cut. Continue Reading »

Earlier this week I hosted The Big Draw workshop at Danes Hill school. It ran for 2 days – a lot of hard work but ultimately brilliant! We made sketchbooks, Olympic banners, art work for the school and self portraits. I think if you ever personified excitement it would be 100 8 year olds running after helium balloons with their self portraits attached – utter mayhem! Above you can see some of the worksheets I made for the event and a detail from one of the tea towels we made.

I began working with Best Publishing Ever on their Cardooo card/presents in Feb 2010, so it is an absolute joy to actually hold a copy after many hours staring at it frustratingly on InDesign. The concept is a birthday card and present all in one (for a very reasonable price). I designed everything from the cover to the stickers to the comics to the activities to the board game, so it was a mammoth project and I am pretty proud of it! Not sure if and when it’s hitting the shops, but I’ve seen it mentioned on WH Smith and Amazon. See under the cut for more photos!

A flyer I made for londonprintstudio‘s new ‘Step Into The Picture‘ project, where a travelling photobooth is set up in local schools and transports the kid to wherever they want to be (sort of). I made this completely on the computer which I really enjoyed but still unsure if giving up my fineliners is for me or not.
